Old Spice Classic

Old Spice Classic boasts strong field for 2011, the sixth year of the annual event

Tubby SmithIt may seem like we’re getting ahead of ourselves, but we’re really not. We’re just giving the people what they want, and the people – basketball fans across the country – want to make plans for 2011, the sixth year of the Old Spice Classic. Seven of the eight teams for next year’s event have punched their ticket to Orlando, with an eighth team to be announced later. Fans and alumni of Arizona State, Dayton, DePaul, Fairfield, Indiana State, Minnesota, Texas Tech and Wake Forest can get a jump on their plans for next Thanksgiving. It’s a strong field, too; six of the seven teams reached the 2010 postseason. Tubby Smith’s Minnesota Golden Gophers are off to a great start for 2010-11, having just captured the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
