General Notes

Seven of the eight teams in the 2008 Old Spice Classic reached post-season last year, including five teams in the NCAA Championship field and two (Tennessee and Michigan State) in the Sweet 16. The teams have combined for three national championships and 15 Final Four appearances all time. Half of this year’s Old Spice Classic teams have reached the Final Four in this decade alone: Georgetown (2005-06), Maryland (2000-01 and 2001-02), Michigan State (1999-2000 and 2004-05), and Oklahoma State (2003-04).

Three members of last season’s field went on to play in the NCAA Championship (George Mason, Kansas State and Villanova).
